Thursday 28th May Anglezarke

Golden Tower, Anglezarke
Well the Doubting Thomases who thought it would be chilly, windy, and might even rain this evening were proved wrong. Or perhaps they got lost en-route; Anglezarke seems to be a tricky crag to find. Either way it was a pity to miss out. Golden Tower glowed in the sun, but having no E-leaders among us we teamed up to climb the routes to its right. The Finger proved to be a 'finger of fun', requiring gymnastics not usually found on a 4b route, and Samarkand was pretty tough for a VS, though worth its three stars. These routes and more provided a solid evening's entertainment and once again it was dark as we picked our way through the luxurious undergrowth in the base of the quarry and made our way back to the cars.

Wednesday 20th May: Twistleton

Another dry but cold evening, this week at Twistleton. A Gold Star to Jenny, who led her first VS, Priority, in good style (even if it was in error!) Linda led Fretsaw, a great easy route with some unusual features in the rock. The most popular route of the night was Evening Wall, climbed by all. Great quality climbing with fantastic views across to Ingleborough.
We were so keen we ended up walking down in the dark and got home too late for the pub!

Thursday 14th May: Witches Quarry

Cold and windy at Witches but we managed five routes. Another good turnout despite the weather.

Thursday 7th May: Wilton One

Five of us enjoyed an evening at Wilton 1,  where we  settled on the sunny inside of the prow. As a finale, Ken attempted a rendezvous with his old favourite Christeena, but in the gathering gloom he was repulsed, and we all retreated in the dark.
